On May 14, 2017, Joe L. Mayer, 81, fell asleep peacefully in death, surrounded by his family, in Centerfield, Utah. He finished his long, good humored fight with infirmities incident to age. Joe was born in Orange, California, on December 26, 1935, to Henry and Marie Carpenter Mayer. He married Carol J. Smith on April 26, 1958, in Madjeska, CA, and they remained happily married until his passing. Joe worked at different occupations throughout his life, but eventually returned to the love he had for horses.
