LeRoy Vernon Rasmusen, 82, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2018 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. LeRoy was born on April 23, 1935 in Salt Lake City to Herbert Vernon and Dora Rasmussen. He married Joan Merle Hansen on October 1, 1954 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were married 33 years until his sweetheart passed away on November 16, 1987.
LeRoy lived in Salt Lake City, Orem, Richfield and Elsinore, Utah. He was employed by Utah Power & Light for 30 years as a meter reader/electrical technician. He was responsible for keeping the power on in the Southern Utah area micro-wave stations. LeRoy enjoyed his job and was always thinking outside of the box to fix any problems that would arise.
LeRoy graduated from South High School and also completed a number of required electrical courses at the University of Utah. He loved the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and water skiing. He even played a little golf!
He is survived by his children: Cheryl (Wayne) Kunzler, Brigham City; Bob (Gwen) Rasmusen, Highland; Diane (Jim) Simpson, Magna; Debbie (Don) Hemsley, Magna; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Mike (Christine) Rasmusen, Parowan; Earl (Margaret) Rasmusen, Salt Lake City; step-siblings: Erma Jean LeMaster, St. George; Patrick (Anne) Rasmusen, St. George; Martha Sammond, Murray; step-brother-in-law, Don Fenton.
He is also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Vicki Lynn Rasmusen; step-sister: Terry Fenton; step-brother-in-law, Terry LeMaster.
Graveside services and interment will be held Saturday April 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Richfield City Cemetery.
