Allen E Olsen, 83, of Gunnison, passed away April 13, 2011, in Ephraim. He as born October 13, 1927, in Ephraim, to Emroy and Edith Hansen Olsen. He married Maxzwen "Mickey" Buchanan, June 15, 1948, in Manti. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on July 16, 1963. She preceded him in death on June 21, 2001.
He is survived by his children: Brent Allen (Barbara) Olsen, Gunnison; Kim Michael Olsen, Gunnison; Steven Gail (Anja) Olsen, Salt Lake City; Laurie (Curtis) Ludvigson, Sterling; Catherine Brown, Richfield; 23 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jerry (Jack) Steck, Ephraim.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mickey; granddaughter, Sheena Marie Newby; parents; brother, Boyd H. Olsen.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the Gunnison LDS Stake Center. Friends may call at the church in Gunnison on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again at the church on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Gunnison Cemetery with Military Rites by the Gunnison American Legion Post #104 and the Utah Honor Guard. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
