Andrew Garn Anderson, 87, entered eternal life December 6, 2020. Born at his parent’s home in Richfield, UT on August 7, 1933, he was the fourth child of Joseph and Violet Anderson who owned Anderson Floral. He had five siblings—Max, Joyce, Verde, McKay and Craig.

Garn served his country in the U.S. Army in Dillingen/Donau, Germany from 1953-1955.

In 1956, Garn married DeEsta Nielson, deceased, and they have four children, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Garn grew up in Richfield, attending Snow College, Dixie College and Salt Lake Area Vocational School, majoring in commercial art.

Employed by OC Tanner Company in Salt Lake City, Garn became the Art Department Director. After moving back to Southern Utah, he continued to work for OC Tanner creating jewelry designs freelance.

Garn taught commercial art at Sevier Valley Tech for 10 years. He was heavily involved in the tourist industry in Southern Utah, publishing his own vacation guide. His petroglyph reproduction business was taken up by his son Joel, and eventually grandson Skyler.

Garn founded the Torrey Trading Post in Torrey, UT outside Capitol Reef National Park. In May 1999, Garn sold the trading post and moved to Arizona to spend the winter. He began painting artwork of the Sonoran Desert. He married Leiann “Angie” Conway in 2000.

Garn became a born-again Christian in 2009 when his 3 week old great-granddaughter Addrina Lyn died.

Garn is survived by his wife Angie; his brother J. Max (Nancy) Anderson; children: Laurie (Roger) Wallner, Jeffrey(Donna) Anderson, Joel (Carol) Anderson, and Lesa Ann Anderson. His grandchildren are: Lacey (Chris) Arneson, Colt Barney, Tiffany McBride deceased, Heather Perry, Skyler Hoyle, Hilary (Jessie) Hall, Athena (Joshua) Braithwaite, Divine Angelica Pingian and Daniel Manayon.

Cremation services were previously held. A graveside memorial service will be held Friday, July 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Richfield City Cemetery with military honors by the V.F.W. Sevier Post #5050 and Utah Honor Guard.
