Beth Warnick

Beth Martin Warnick passed away peacefully at home on October 29, 2025. Her life was filled with love for her family, faith in her Savior Jesus Christ, service to others, and music.

Beth was born January 9, 1928, in Provo, Utah, the youngest child of Thomas Lysons and Hattie Paxman Martin. She graduated from Provo High School, followed by Brigham Young University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1949. During her first year of teaching, while living in the Lion House in Salt Lake City, Beth met Robert Fred Warnick. They were married on August 14, 1950, in the Salt Lake City temple. They are the parents of five children: Leland Thomas (Kim), David Martin (Linnie), Anne (Lynn Mortenson), Mark Martin (Sherri), and Gail (Doran Gillie), 24 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Beth loved music all her life. Her father encouraged her in her musical pursuits by purchasing a used baby grand piano; she kept and played that piano until the end. Beth sang in, conducted, or accompanied many special choirs and small ensembles. She played the organ and led the singing in church services. She helped create Road Shows for the teens to perform. In Klamath Falls, Oregon, she played for the children in primary for eight years, performed with the Kitchen Band, and joined the hymn singers each month.

Beth taught piano lessons to many children over the years, including her own. She joined a music study group where the members performed for each other and presented research papers. She loved listening to classical music and loved attending live performances.

She thrilled to watch her children, grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren learn to play the piano and other instruments and sing in choirs. In her final days, she loved listening to family members sing to her.

Beth had a heart for service. She served faithfully in many church positions and was a faithful visiting teacher, ministering with love to all “her sisters”. She hosted and served a monthly lunch for the senior women at church for many years. Beth and Bob served together in the Salt Lake City South mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They served together in the Jordan River, Utah, and Medford, Oregon, temples, and Beth served in other temples before Bob retired.

In addition to music, Beth enjoyed quilting, embroidering, crocheting, home canning, and reading. She had a lifelong love of roses and grew them at each of her homes. A special gift from Beth was the quilt she made for the wedding of each of her posterity, followed by a quilt for each new baby.

Bob’s work led the family to live in several states: Washington, Georgia, Colorado, Maryland, Illinois, and Texas, with retirement in Utah and Oregon. Beth loved everywhere she lived and was quick to get involved, making friends and leaving a mark for good.

Beth is preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob), son Leland, her parents, and siblings.

Services for Beth will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11:00 am in the Ephraim 2nd Ward Chapel, 450 North 200 West, with a viewing prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm in the Provo City Cemetery. Funeral Directors are Magleby Mortuary of Richfield, Salina, & Manti. 

The family wishes to express particular thanks to Shakira Peterson for her loving attention and tender service to Beth in her final month. Also, special thanks to Kelcee and Kallie of Intermountain Health Homecare and Hospice in Beth’s final days.
