Betty Vee Waters

April 4, 1921 — August 14, 2011

Betty Vee Anderson Waters, 90, passed away August 14, 2011 in Monroe, surrounded by her family. She was born April 4, 1921 in Elsinore the seventh of eight children to Niels Peter and Adalena Nielson Anderson. She married Dale Squire Waters in Tulsa, Oklahoma, February 14, 1944. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple, February 14, 1946. He preceded her in death January 20, 2011.

She enjoyed needlepoint, genealogy, and hosting family get-togethers. She was known for her homemade chocolates, cooking and baking. She enjoyed doing hair for friends and family throughout her life. Betty was a "doer" and managed time wisely, accomplishing much for many.

Betty served in the Relief Society, Primary, Young Woman’s auxiliaries and was a devoted visiting teacher. She especially enjoyed serving with Dale as a temple worker for over 20 years.

Betty is survived by her children: Roger (Donna) Waters; Marilyn (Joe) Staley; Mark (Sheri) Waters, Keith (Kathy) Waters and Carolyn (Darrell) Neumann; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; her brother and best friend, George M. Anderson; sister-in-law, Rita Jensen.

Preceded in death by her husband, Dale; parents; brothers: Wendell (Beth) Anderson, Paul Anderson; Ralph (Dantzel) Anderson; sisters, Mary Anderson, Aleene (Lynn) Oldroyd, and Ethel (Arnel) Dastrup; sister-in-laws, Anna Ruth Anderson, Virginia Anderson, Shirley Anderson; grandchildren, DeEtte Staley, and Matthew Staley;

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 19, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Richfield 4 th Ward Chapel (159 N. 400 W.) Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and at the ward chapel Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.

Betty graduated from Provo Beauty School and later owned her own beauty shop in the Peterson Bank building in Richfield. On October 1, 1955 Betty and Dale started their own business, Central Electric Supply. Betty was the bookkeeper and an integral part of the business. Betty’s life was a legacy of service to family and friends. She loved and served her family, including her children and grandchildren, nieces, nephews and siblings.
