Mike Sorenson
May 11, 1957 – July 18, 2025
Mike Sorenson, 68, of Centerfield, Utah, passed away on July 18, 2025, in Provo, Utah, with his daughters by his side.
Born on May 11, 1957, in Salina, Utah.
As a child, Mike would bring home every stray cat, dog, or injured bird and even friends that needed help or a meal. He was a helper and had a sweet heart. After a tragic car accident where he lost his friend, he suffered a TBI and spent many years suffering with seizures and finding himself again.
Mike spent most of his life as a journeyman drywall hanger and finisher. His father began teaching him the trade at age 15. He always took great pride in his work and continued the trade until a car accident made him unable to continue physically. He was a perfectionist; his dedication and skills in finishing work were unmatched.
Mike loved the outdoors—whether it was gardening (he grew the biggest red potatoes!), camping up twelve-mile canyon, fishing, or hunting. His happy place was most definitely gathering around a campfire with family and friends. His amazing mother taught him many things, but cooking was by far his most treasured. He particularly loved to bake giant loaves of homemade bread and create amazing Dutch-Oven meals.
Mike was a loving and extremely proud father and grandfather.
He was very friendly and happy to chat with anyone, especially to share his favorite Dutch-Oven recipes and brag about his children and grandchildren.
His last few years were tough as he struggled with COPD and heart troubles.
We would like to thank Provo Hospital and their team of doctors and nurses, who did all they could to heal and help until the very end.
Siblings: Lynn Sorenson, James Chester & Mary (Blaine) Westlund
He is survived by his children: Heidi (Shane) Lengas, Brandi (Clayton) Meyer, and Jason (Dakota) Sorenson; and by his nine grandchildren, who were the joy of his life.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Kaye and Boyd Sorenson, and his sisters, Ranie Lambertson, Peggy Sue Barney & Avral Sorenson Hansen.
His legacy lives on in the lives of those he loved most.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held at the Old rock church,
