Eddie Sallee
Monroe, Utah

Charles Edward “Eddie” Sallee passed away at the age of 83 on April 20, 2023 at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo. Eddie was born on May 10, 1939 in Rushville, Indiana and was one of five children born to Harold E. Sallee and Sadie M. Shoopman Sallee.
At the age of 17, Eddie joined the United States Marine Corps and served for six years; three years active duty stationed in Hawaii and three years reserve duty stationed in Barstow, CA. He stayed in Barstow and worked as a civilian employee of the Yermo Marine Corps Logistics Base until he retired. This is where he met and married his love, Marcia Luann Insko on July 8, 1961. They were married 57 years until Marcia’s passing on May 11, 2019. They were blessed with two children: Brian and Brenda.
Eddie lived out his 83 years to the fullest and shared his love of desert riding and racing with his children and grandchildren. Sitting down and visiting with Eddie meant a conversation sprinkled with a little bit of cursing and a whole lot of sarcasm. When he wasn’t riding his motorcycle or speeding around in his side-by-side, you could find him in his shop fixing or remodeling anything he could get his hands on, or collecting yet another antique tractor.
Eddie is survived by his son, Brian (Evette) Sallee; daughter, Brenda (Doug) Fuchs; grandchildren: Ashley (Jake) Dyer, Taylor Sallee, Travis Sallee, Brooke Fuchs, Aubrey Fuchs, Ellie Fuchs, Faith Fuchs; great-grandchildren: Poppy Dyer, Zoe Dyer, Scarlett Rodriguez, Stone Rodriguez; siblings: Florence Alexander, Doris Reynolds, Jim (Nancy) Sallee, Steve (Gail) Sallee; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and his brother-in-law, Bill Reynolds.
There will be a celebration of life in July 2023 where we will spread the ashes of Eddie and Marcia together along the California beaches and behind his grandson Travis’ racecar in the desert he loved so much. Cremation services held at the Magleby Mortuary Crematory.
