Clarence Marlin Peterson Jr. “Pete” beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and son, passed away on September 12, 2026, in Monroe, Utah, at the age of 69. He was born in Provo, Utah, to Clarence Marlin Peterson Sr. and Ena Christiansen Peterson on March 8, 1957.
Pete was married to the love of his life, Linda Lee Sorensen, on April 2, 1977, in Spanish Fork, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Provo Temple in 1991.
After 26 years of distinguished and devoted service with the Utah Department of Corrections CUCF, he retired with a legacy of dedication, integrity, and service to others.
He was a man who loved deeply and lived life with purpose. His greatest joys were found in his wife, children, grandchildren, horses, and his beloved “fur babies” Kelee and Harlee. Family was at the heart of everything he did, and the love he shared with them will continue to live on in the memories they hold so dear.
He was a wonderfully talented leather craftsman, creating beautiful pieces with patience, skill, and pride. He was also an avid hunter and true lover of the outdoors, where he found peace, adventure, and countless moments to cherish.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, his faith was an important part of his life and the legacy he leaves behind.
After 16 long months apart, he is finally reunited with the love of his life. While his passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, there is comfort in knowing that they are together again.
The world lost an amazing man, and those who knew and loved him will greatly miss him. His kindness, strength, devotion, and love will never be forgotten. We Love You More!!
He is survived by his children, Steve (Kay) Peterson of Salina; Brandy (Corey) Anderson of Fillmore; Stacie Jacobson of Central Valley; and Shanna (Nathaniel) Pope of Richfield. He also has 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Ronda Mearl (Peterson) Phenes of Brigham City.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Linda Peterson; parents, Clarence and Ena Peterson; sisters, Venna, Meridean, Marnae, and Valene; parents-in-law, James and Ila Mae Sorensen; and many other loved ones.
