Courtney James Murphy, born on February 10, 1963, in Grand Junction, Colorado, passed away peacefully in Centerfield, Utah, on May 11, 2025. He was 62 years old.

Courtney was a hardworking individual who took pride in his career. From a young age, he displayed an entrepreneurial spirit, owning his own truck through Murphy Trucking starting at just 16 years old. His journey would eventually lead him to Utah, where he made his home for the past 20 years, working diligently at Mike Madsen Construction.

A deeply caring and devoted family man, Courtney's greatest joy came from the time he spent with his loved ones. He cherished his children Rhett and Jessie Crane and delighted in being a grandfather to his three grandchildren, Cooper, Cash and Charlie Crane. His warmth and kindness were evident in his love for people, and he fostered strong bonds that will endure in the hearts of those who knew him.

Courtney is survived by his sister, Valarie Kirk of Colorado, his beloved significant other, Michelle Bardsley, niece Meghann Kirk and many other loving family members throughout Utah and Colorado along with his three beloved grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy of love and generosity. He also leaves behind cherished memories for many friends and acquaintances whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Murphy, and his father, James Murphy, both of whom hold a special place in his family's thoughts during this time of mourning.

As we remember Courtney James Murphy, let us celebrate his life and the indelible impact he made on those around him. Cremation services will take place at Magleby Mortuary and Cremation Center in Richfield with a visitation on May 12, 2025, at 3:30 pm. May he rest in peace, forever remembered for his compassion and dedication to his family and friends.
