Dale Edward Jensen
Richfield, Utah
Dale Edward Jensen, aged 70, passed away, peacefully on a beautiful summer morning, July 2, 2025. Dale was born to Delbert Scott and Clara Anderson Jensen, on May 22, 1955, in Richfield, UT. As a child he was all about riding his bike, night games and harassing his siblings. In high school his favorites were hunting, football and wrestling, where he earned the nickname “Tank.” He worked hard helping his Dad at A&D Jensen contractors and on the farm.
He studied diesel mechanics in High School and then continued on at Weber State after graduation. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Pocatello, Idaho Mission, “The best mission ever.”
He met his sweetheart Barbara Christensen, on the ski slopes at a young singles adult activity. When someone asked her why she married him, she said “Because he’s so fun!”
Dale worked at the Sufco Mine, and Southern Pacific Railroad while completing his Automotive Engineering degree at Utah State and Weber State.
Fate brought their family to Richfield in 1981, when a teaching opportunity opened up at the SVATC. He worked there for 30 years teaching diesel mechanics, retiring in 2011. Many students were influenced for good through his great example and honest approach to life.
Summers allowed him to build their family home with the help of his father and brothers. Many family adventures were shared.
His family always came first. He loved to open the door and have his kids run to him. His reply to what do you want was always, “A happy family.” He had a deep and abiding love for his Savior. He loved serving as a Bishop, but said his absolute favorite calling had to be in the Nursery.
Dale and Barbara served 3 senior missions: Guatemala City South, Adam-ondi-Ahman, and as helpers for the Addiction Recovery Program. He was a ward and stake missionary many times.
He is survived by his sweetheart of almost 47 years, Barbara. Daughters: Nicole (Chip) Sanders, of Enoch; Kimberly (Cody) Olsen, Rebecca (Paul) Damron of Central Valley; son, Jason (Kayli) Jensen of Oro Valley, AZ. He is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, Elwood and JoAnn Christensen; brother, David Jensen; sister-in-law, Norma Jensen. We wish a special thank you to all the amazing care givers that have helped along the way. There are many.
