Dallen Singleton Obituary

Dallen died of natural causes on December 29, 2025. Dallen was born at Cottonwood Hospital on January 28th, 1970. He was the 5 th child (of 6) and 4 th (of 5) son of Gary and Jackie Singleton. He was raised and grew up in Murray until he was 10 years old. He loved his time there, making huts and treehouses in the forest next to our house, making rafts to float on the pond at the end of the dirt road, and playing rec league soccer and flag football. His time in Murray was just a warm-up for the … interesting times that were to come later. His family moved to Riverton in September 1980. At the time, Riverton was still very rural. Lots of open fields and space. The transition was pretty easy for him because he could quickly make friends. Dallen and friends took advantage of this freedom. Many years ago, the Bamberger Railroad line ran right through Riverton. Long abandoned when we arrived in Riverton, that built up train line provided many natural places to build bike trails and jumps. There was The Big Hill, The Railroad Beds, The Old Barn, and other places around where we lived. This is when Dallen got into BMX bike racing. He was very good at it. He raced mainly at Riverview Racetrack in Murray on his PK Ripper. He still has an armload of his trophies and had enough points to become an Expert class.

Shortly after his BMX phase, Dallen launched himself fully into the next: Rodeo. He went all in: the clothes, the music, the chewing tobacco, and making his own leather belts and belt buckles. He had a large group of friends that he was still in contact with from this time in his life. His next endeavor was one that defined him for the rest of his life. I don’t really know how the transition happened, but he went from country music to heavy metal to ‘Thrash Metal’. And once again he dived in deep. And once again, he had a huge group of friends.

Dallen started out playing drums and then moved to bass, and back to drums, and back to bass. He was completely self-taught. He and his friends started many bands or just got together to ‘jam’. The most stable group actually recorded some music, and he also wrote some of the lyrics. This band was called ‘Truce’. He thoroughly enjoyed his music and was always happy when discussing it or sharing it with others.

From his time as a ‘cowboy’ during his early teenage years, he also jumped into and was a lifelong fan of one specific NFL team – The Denver Broncos. From that time as a teenager to the last game he watched, the Christmas Day game against the Chiefs, he loved his Broncos.

Dallen chose as a profession to be a plumber/HVAC specialist. You could not drive anywhere in Utah with Dallen without having him point out EVERY!!! The place and job he had worked on over the years.

He also remembered all the customers as well. He remembered their names and certain things about them. It was like he had a photographic memory for these kinds of things. For a time, he even had his own plumbing business in the Salt Lake valley: Exquisite Plumbing. He was very proud of that time and driving the trucks that had the custom graphics on the side, which he had designed.

Later in life, Dallen moved down to the Richfield area to be close to his sons. He continued working as a plumber. Dallen loved his family. He loved his daughters, Kaylee and Nevaeh, and his sons Acer and Koda, and his four Granddaughters.

He had some complicated relationships, but he always loved them. Dallen struggled with drug and alcohol addiction from his time as a teenager until the end. Anyone who met and got to know Dallen would remember him. He was always up for fun. He was very funny and fun to be around. Everybody was a friend to Dallen. He was always willing to help anyone, and those reading this can probably think of something he did to help them.

There were no strangers when he was around. Absolutely fearless when talking to and approaching people, sometimes annoyingly so for those of us who are…normal. He left this world way too early. He faced many struggles in life, but would always bounce back.

We will all miss you and your larger-than-life personality. I don’t know if there are mosh pits in heaven, but if there weren’t, there soon will be.
