Darla K. Christensen Roberts of St. George, Utah, formally of Centerfield, Utah passed away surrounded by family on April 27, 2022 in Leeds, Utah. Darla was born February 19, 1944 in Centerfield. She was the last of 6 children.
Darla grew up on the family farm on the west side of centerfield. On the farm they raised cattle, chickens, and farmed vegetables. She grew up with lots of cousins and family members, they played outside and in the river. Her dad passed when she was 6 years old.
Darla graduated from Gunnison Valley High School in 1962. After graduation she moved to Provo, to go business school. Darla then married Frank Roberts in January 1970; they later divorced. They moved back to Centerfield where they raised 5 children. Darla managed Top Stop and worked cleaning at the Gunnison Hospital. In 1993 she went back college to pursue a degree in business. After graduating from Snow College, she received a job for the State of Utah, where she worked for 15 years before retiring. After retiring she proceeded to move to St. George, where she lived out the rest of her years.
She is survived by her children: Mark (Tami) Roberts, Tina (Brock) Bailey, Sue (Paul) Harrison, Nichelle (Josh) Orr; son-in-law, Aaron Matthews; and sister-in-law, Arlene Christensen. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Stella Christensen; daughter, Kay Marie Matthews; brothers: Doyle, Dale, Vernal and Arnold; and her sister, Idella.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Centerfield 1st Ward Chapel, where friends may call from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Centerfield Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
