David LeGrande Mower

David LeGrande Mower died peacefully on Monday, September 22, at his home in Richfield, Utah. 
He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him. 
David was born on May 2, 1947, in Salt Lake City to Marvin Lavern and Ruth Elaine Newquist Mower. 
He grew up in the Avenues neighborhood with siblings Carol, Jay, Jeanene, Janice, and many cousins. 
He attended East High School and the University of Utah, studying mathematics and accounting, and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Andes Mission, serving Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, and Chile. 
In 1970, David married Diane Pace in the Salt Lake Temple. He completed law school at the University of Utah in 1974, then practiced law as a county attorney in Panguitch and at a firm in Richfield before being appointed to the Utah Circuit Court as a judge in 1986, traveling to serve Garfield, Kane, Piute, Sanpete, Sevier, and Wayne counties. He became a District Court Judge for the Utah State Courts in 1992. 
David and Diane liked to take adventures with their seven children, hiking to their favorite hot dog spot in the Red Hills, camping and biking at Fishlake, visiting national parks, finding geocaches, and going for Sunday drives. 
David loved music, learning, trying new things, serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and volunteering within the community. David and Diane both sang in the Aspen Heart Choir, and David always participated in Messiah sing-ins at Christmas time. He picked up the string bass again in retirement and went back to school to study interdisciplinary studies at Utah State University in 2009. 
With Diane, David served a mission in Athens, Greece, in 2011 - 2012, and he also served as a Records Operation Center (ROC) missionary. Always intrigued by GPS, David achieved his twin life goals of visiting the equator and the Prime Meridian. 
Before he passed, he maintained his love of riding his bike - always finding the time to hit the trails near his home in Richfield. 
His adventurousness will be missed. 
David is survived by his wife of 55 years, Diane Pace Mower, his children Aimee, Curtis, Bryce, Allyson, Alecia, Angela, and Brittany and his 15 grandchildren Harrison, Chelsea, Aubree, Max, Ruth, Henry, George, Magnus, Ellen, Kaylin, Finn, Brandon, Katy, Connor, Emily, and one great grandchild Covey. 

Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 11:00 am in October 7, 2025 in the Richfield 9th Ward Chapel, 159 North 400 West, Richfield, UT.
Viewings will be held on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Magleby Mortuary, 50 S 100 W, in Richfield, Ut
and prior to services on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
Interment will be held in the Richfield City Cemetery
