DeLaina Minchey
Richfield, Utah
DeLaina Minchey, a beloved soul and cherished matriarch, departed from this world on April 30, 2025, in Richfield, Utah. Born on January 27, 1945, in the quaint town of McKinnon, Wyoming, DeLaina personified a spirit imbued with compassion and warmth, effortlessly instilling love and joy into the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Her educational journey led her to pursue an Associate’s degree in medical transcription, a testament to her commitment to service and her unwavering dedication to helping others. Yet, it was not only her professional achievements that defined her, but rather the richness of her character, which flourished in her devotion to family. DeLaina was a caring and loving individual, who found immense pleasure in playing her organ, tending to her flower garden, and, most importantly, nurturing her cherished grandchildren. She was the heart of her family, embodying a spirit of unconditional love that will forever resonate within her kin.
DeLaina is survived by her devoted husband, Owen Minchey, and their loving children: Denny Hintze, Vickie Calaway, Micheal Hintze, and Cody Hintze. Each of them carries forward her legacy of kindness, resilience, and familial devotion. The absence of her loving presence will be profoundly felt, yet her essence will continue to illuminate the lives of those she held dear.
She now joins her deceased family members in eternal rest, including her parents, Zelma and Phillip Brady, her brothers Leon Brady and Eccles Brady, her sisters Bertha Briggs, Norma Brady, Cleata Barney, and Martha Hilton, as well as her beloved grandson, Dennis Owen Powell. In reuniting with them, DeLaina finds a peace that transcends our earthly existence.
As we bid farewell to DeLaina Minchey, let us remember her not with sorrow but with gratitude for the profound impact she had on our lives. Her legacy will undoubtedly endure, a testament to a life well-lived, in service to those she loved most dearly.
