Listen to Obituary

Delton Gene Koehn was born on October 23, 1954, in Turlock, CA. Jesus took him home on June 13, 2026. He went peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.

Delton was the eldest son of his parents, James and Alma Koehn. He was raised in a loving home and worked alongside his dad in the vineyards and almond orchards in California.

He learned early on about the love of Christ. When he was 13 years old, he trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior and received eternal life. As a young adult, he wandered into darkness for a time, but the Lord brought him back, and he faithfully loved and served his Savior for the remainder of his days. He always said, "God never let me go too far during that time.”

He married Joleen (Nightingale) on November 5th, 1978, at the age of 21. Delton and Joleen raised a beautiful daughter and three handsome sons together. They raised them to know Jesus while living in Texas, California, and Utah.

Delton was raised as a Holdeman Mennonite but left that religion as a middle-aged man and, like Abraham, struck out in faith to follow God and the truth. He settled his family in the Central Valley of Utah. He took his family to Richfield Bible Church in 1998, where they grew in the faith and love of Christ. He was a faithful Brother in Christ and an Elder there for over 20 years. He was honored to become the pastor in 2020, a position he served in faithfully until his death. He preached his last sermon just days before his homegoing. Over the years, he also served the Lord as a song leader, choir singer, youth leader and mentor, Christian camp worker, VBS worker, and host to many folks.

Delton was a hardworking man who was employed at Hales Sand and Gravel from 1995 to 2020. He worked there as a cement driver, a diesel mechanic, and an equipment/shop manager. He also worked for a few years at Mason’s Diesel shop. He was well known for his hard work and honesty and for sharing the Gospel and the love of Christ in his workplace. He was well-known in his community as a man who loved and welcomed all kinds of people into his life without hesitation.

Delton became a Pappa (Grandfather) in 2011. He loved and spoiled his grandchildren with all his heart. He could often be “caught” giving them whatever they wanted, despite their parents' rules. He loved his wife faithfully and sacrificially all his days. He loved his children and their spouses completely. They were his pride and joy. They will all carry his love on in their hearts.

Jesus Christ, His Word, and His Church were deeply loved by Delton. He loved both spending time and singing with his family. He loved taking his grandkids on walkabouts.

He also liked fishing, camping, snowboarding, and playing ping-pong, chess, and basketball. He was always working on or buying a truck. He enjoyed Mexican food, coconut cream pie, steak, and blonde Oreos drowned in milk. He liked yellow, blue, leopards, football, and his jeep.

He is survived by his wife Joleen of Utah; his daughter Chandra of Colorado; his son Jonathan and daughter-in-love Bethany of Colorado; his son Jeremiah and daughter-in-love Samantha of Colorado; and his son Daniel and daughter-in-love Brittani of Utah.

He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren: Hadassah, Ezekiel, Elisha, Enoch, Imrae, Celeste, Aurora, and Lilah.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.
