Dennis (Denny) Calvert Bell, the oldest of six children of Ronald Hal and Mary Ireta Anderson, was born in Salt Lake City, UT October 27, 1944. He passed away peacefully at Monroe Canyon Assisted Living in Monroe, Utah, on January 9, 2026, at the age of 81.
Denny loved anything about the outdoors. He spent a lot of time from his childhood to adulthood hunting, fishing, and camping with his family, friends, and Bell cousins. He loved being on the mountain.
He attended school in Monroe, Utah, and South Sevier High School. He joined the National Guard after leaving High School.
Denny always worked in or owned service stations in many locations throughout Utah, Idaho, and Nevada.
Denny loved root beer, coconut shrimp, and mashed potatoes. His last wish is for his family to get together for a celebration of his life, when the weather gets warmer, to have a root beer float, and talk about old times. He also made a killer sloppy joe that everyone loved, but he never shared the secret ingredient, which made it so no one else could duplicate it.
Later in life, he spent a lot of time reading Louie Lamore books and watching old western movies (black and white) on TV. He loved to listen to Country Western music. Denny was known for his infectious laugh, and he loved his family dearly. He was always so proud of his daughter, his brothers, and his little sister. Denny loved to ride horses. His favorite horse was named Chico.
He always took great pride in his appearance, whether it was his thick hair groomed perfectly, wearing his Wrangler jeans, cowboy boots, and of course, his cowboy hat. He loved clothes and always had a full closet of them.
Denny married Julie Rickenbach (later divorced) and was a proud father of two children, Dennis Calvert Bell Jr., who passed away shortly after birth, and Angela Bell Burnett. He has 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter Angie (Michael) Burnett of Gilbert, Arizona, his brothers Gordon Bell, Kevin (Marilyn) Bell, and Tony (Kerri) Bell. He was very proud of his daughter, Angie, and loved his grandsons, Tyler and Asher Burnett, along with his granddaughters, Kaila (Samual) Justice and Brielle Burnett. Grandchildren are Emilia and Wyatt Justice.
Preceded in death by his parents Hal and Mary, his baby son Dennis, and brother Spencer Alan Bell and sister Laurie Bell Magleby.
The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the employees at Monroe Canyon Assisted Living for their kindness and assistance with Denny while he was a resident there.
Cremation will be held in the Magleby Mortuary and Cremation Center, Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina, and Manti
