Donald Paul Schuneman, affectionately known as Paul, passed away on December 28, 2025, in Richfield, Utah, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 7, 1952, in Concord, California, Paul led a life filled with service, humor, and a deep love for family and friends.
Throughout his life, he dedicated many years to his career as a truck driver for Concord Masonry. His dedication to his work was only rivaled by his passion for life outside of it. Paul was known for his skilled hands, able to fix anything that came his way, and for his love of adventure, often taking Jeep rides that allowed him to explore the beauty of the world around him. His daughter fondly remembers rides in the semi-truck and how he filled her life with joy and laughter.
An individual of remarkable character, Paul possessed a dry wit that brought lightness to any situation. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, with a personality that radiated kindness and a love for animals. Paul found great joy in camping with his family on Monroe Mountain and decorating his yard with solar lights, showcasing his creative spirit and zest for life.
His faith was an integral part of who he was. Paul served two ward missions and one stake mission, guiding many people toward Christ. This dedication to his faith and community was one of his proudest accomplishments, reflecting his generous nature and willingness to share everything he had with others.
Paul attended College Park in California, shaping not just his education but also influencing the values he held dear throughout his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Karren; daughter, Jeannie Schuneman; siblings, Margaret (Jim) McMullen, Bettie Stephens, and Jim (Sheri) Schuneman; as well as a legacy built on the bonds of family and friendship.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Gayle Joyce Schuneman; his parents, Donald and Elaine Schuneman; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Stevenson and Kent Levi.
