Donna Anderson

Redmond, Utah

Donna Allred Anderson, 89, passed away at her home in Redmond on November 29, 2020. Donna was born September 19, 1931, in Centerfield, Utah to Andrew Franklin and Anna Myrtel Anderson Allred. She grew up in Centerfield, creating fond memories with family and many friends. She received her high school diploma from Gunnison Valley High School.

Donna married Miles A Anderson on February 11, 1949, in Centerfield. They were sealed in the Manti Temple on July 19, 1980.

Donna worked serving school lunch for 6 years and then went to work for First State Bank of Salina which later became Zions First National Bank. She worked as a head teller there for 11 years until she retired.

Donna sang alto with a double trio from Redmond for many years. One of the most rewarding things Donna and Miles did was work at the Manti Temple was ordinance workers. They served there for almost five years. She also served in the Redmond 1st Ward as a Primary teacher, den mother, Young Women’s leader, Relief Society counselor, and compassionate service leader. Donna and Miles also served as Church service missionaries for years.

Her greatest joys in life were her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and you could not visit their house without getting offered something to eat. She absolutely loved visitors. She also loved to work in her yard and loved planting flowers and her garden. She could make anyone feel like she had known them forever. She loved and accepted everyone like they were her own. The grandkids always loved to go to her house and help her with puzzles; she always had a puzzle going. She was gifted at making quilts and each grandchild received one from her. She also liked crocheting and took an interest in art.

Survived by her husband of 71 years, Miles; children: Glendon (Raelyn) Anderson, Redmond; Larry (Johneen) Anderson, West Valley City; Karen (Jeff) Hansen, Centerfield; Denzel (Tammy) Anderson, Redmond; Diane (Robert) Christiansen, Mayfield; Ronald (Julie) Anderson, Centerfield, and Duane Anderson, Redmond; brother, Ace Allred and sister, Della Bunnell, both of Centerfield. She has 28 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild on the way.

Preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Everett, Leath, Max, Grant, Kenneth; and sisters, Doris and Helen.

The family is deeply grateful to the loving care givers from Gunnison Valley Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate service.
