Dorthy Vee Henrie

November 16, 1946 — June 7, 2011

Dorthy Vee Henrie, age 64, our beloved sister and aunt passed away peacefully on June 7, 2011 in Sandy, Utah after a long illness. She was a very stately, gracious, elegant lady and very easy to talk to. She will be missed very much. 25 nieces and nephews, and 59 grand-nieces and nephews whose birthdays she always remembered and who all adored her.

She was born November 16, 1946 in Richfield, Utah to Francis Verl and Dessie Kristine Swalberg Henrie. She grew up on the Henrie Ranch southeast of Marysvale, Utah and attended Piute High School. Upon graduation, she attended the College of Southern Utah in Cedar City.

Dorthy had a unwavering testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a great love and appreciation for our Savior, Jesus Christ. She served an LDS Mission to Auckland, New Zealand. She served faithfully in various callings in the Church but her greatest love was teaching Primary. She loved all children and was loved by children who affectionately called her "Sister Dorthy".

She was very generous in her contributions to numerous charities and missionaries. Throughout her life she regularly gave money anonymously to those in need.

She faithfully served in the Sevier County Recorders Office for twenty years and as Sevier County Recorder from 1986 to 1998. Her greatest happiness came from serving the citizens. She was very dedicated and treated everyone with respect, kindness and fairness.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Francis V. She is survived by her sisters, McVoy (Keith) Barben, Connie (Clark) Brunson, Donna (Roger) Waters, and Kathy (Boyd) Knight;

We as her family extend our appreciation to those who cared for her: friends and neighbors, home teachers, visiting teachers, and personnel of the care facilities where she has resided this past year.
