    Douglas James Ivie passed away peacefully on August 2, 2023 in his home, surrounded by loved ones.  He was born October 17, 1939 to Frank and Rhea Ivie in Salt Lake City.   Doug married his beloved wife, Judy in October of 1978  after knowing each other for only three weeks. They successfully raised nine children and spent 44 wonderful years together.   
    Doug was very restless.  You could usually find him tearing out a kitchen wall or bathroom sink.  When he wasn't busy at home, you could find him in his shop (Poison Ivie Woodworking), making clocks, cradles or cedar chests for his children and grandchildren.  He joined the military and became an airplane mechanic and after that, he loved restoring old cars.  He entered his cars into car shows and even won a few trophies.  He also loved farming.  He worked at a few dairy farms and enjoyed being outside in nature with the cows.  Together, Doug and Judy fulfilled their dreams of opening Mama Butch's Pizza in Gunnison.  He was a man of many talents.  He had a huge heart and shared as much love as he could with his friends and family.  
    Doug is survived by his children: Terry Ivie, Stacie Anderson, DJ Ivie (Kelly), Joe Ivie (Angie), Kellie  (Matt) Rose, and Ben Ivie (Desirae);  29 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; his sister, Claudia. 
    He is preceded in death by his parents; his eternal companion, Judy;  children: Melissa Yardley, Tamra Olson-Ivie, Christopher Ivie; granddaughter, Kera Casimir; brother, Frank Ivie; and sister, Barbara Ivie.  
    Graveside services and interment will be held on Monday, August 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Manti Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 9:30-10:30 at Magleby Mortuary with military honors by the Manti American Legion Post #31 and Utah Honor Guard.
