Douglas John Wendel passed away peacefully at his home in Ephraim, UT, on March 20, 2026. He was born on May 26, 1951, to Allen and Eileen Wendel in Bountiful, Utah.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Wendel, whom he married on August 20, 1975, in the Salt Lake Temple, their children: Channie (Justin) Shearer, Jared (Brandi) Wendel, Jason (Audrey) Wendel, Angela Wendel, Chrissi Wendel and Ashley Wendel, 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren (+ two on the way!).
Doug spent his life helping things grow—whether in his garden and orchard, by teaching scouts to become men and gain a testimony, by expanding the minds of college students, or by guiding his children or grandchildren to learn the value of work and service.
