Earlene Grimstead Jorgensen, 84, passed away peacefully Sunday August 16, 2020 in Centerfield, Utah. Earlene was born in Salt Lake City, Utah January 31, 1936. She was first born out of 5 children to Earl and Vivian Peterson Grimstead. Earlene gained 7 additional siblings when her parents went on to marry other partners.

Earlene grew up in Utah and spent time with her dad in parts of Nevada. She met and married her sweetheart and eternal companion, Gordon Jorgensen November 16, 1952 in Richfield Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on April 2, 1966. They made their home in Richfield Utah where they raised 5 children. He preceded her in death August 5, 2002.

Earlene loved music and was blessed with a beautiful voice and was an amazing cook. She blessed many with her talents and loved to share her delicious bread, cinnamon rolls, and cookies with neighbors and friends and family. She loved to sing and us kids will always remember waking up to the sound of her singing and the smell of fresh baked bread.

Earlene worked at Sevier Valley Hospital for many years as a dietary cook. Many will remember how good the hospital food and deserts were during her tenure there.

Earlene was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings in the Relief Society and Primary and in her later years enjoyed spending time with her friends and other widows in her ward. She loved attending the temple up until her health started failing her.

Earlene was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She and Gordon had quite the posterity and she was very proud and loved each of her children and grandchildren.

Earlene is survived by her children: Vicki Gale, Elsinore; Gary (Annette) Alamo, NV; Cathy (Roger) Thorell, Centerfield; Troy (Tuula) Grand Junction, CO; Wendy (Bert) Minchow Las Vegas, NV; siblings: Linda Jean (Clark) Wall, Venice; Diana (John) Asbury, Ogden; Michael (Jan) Grimstead, Roy; Leslie (Larry) Gregerson, Centerfield; Rocky (Laura) Williams, Salina; Kevin (Sue) Williams, Salina; Lisa (Henry) Miller, Salina; Gordon (Leigh ) Grimstead, Eureka; David (Marla ) Grimstead, Reseda, CA; and LeAnn Hall, South Weber; 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband Gordon; parents; parents-in-law; son-in-law, Lyle Gale; brother, Dennis Grimstead; brothers-in-law, Robert Sorenson, Verdon Jorgensen, Normon Jorgensen; sister-in-law, Nola; great-grandson, Bryson Jensen.

Funeral Services will be Friday, August 21, 2020 at 1:00 pm in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, 50 South 100 West, Richfield, Utah. A viewing will be from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
