Elaine Averett Mullins - loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother - passed away on May 27, 2021 in her Manti, UT home. She was surrounded by three generations of her family. Elaine was born on May 21, 1940 to Albert Leon and Anona Lydia Pulsipher Averett in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was known throughout much of southern Utah as the traveling speech pathologist and teacher who loved helping children and parents. She was always an advocate for the children she served. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in every position from Relief Society president to nursery leader.
She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Leon Averett, her brother, Ramon Averett, her mother Anona Lydia Pulsipher Averett Cavner, and her stepfather, William Cavner. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lewis Shields Mullins, her six children: Eve Mullins, Aaron Mullins, Chris Mullins, Matt Mullins, Anona Willden, and Everett Mullins, her 15 grandchildren, and her 5 and 8/9ths great grandchildren. She loved all things Christmas and family gathering with enough food to feed armies. She was an avid Jazz fan, and when not watching basketball, she wanted to be on the stream bank fishing. She cared for all and ensured that each was loved. She will be missed.
