Emma Lou Webb Cash

May 19, 1938- April 4, 2026

Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Emma Lou, passed away surrounded by family in her home on early Saturday morning, April 4th, 2026. She was born in her family home in Monroe on May 19, 1938, to Rex B and Lucile Jensen Webb. She was the oldest of four and adored her younger siblings: Marie (Edmund) Ginn, Ray B (Catherine) Webb, and David J (Delanie) Webb.

She loved living in Monroe and playing with her cousins and good friends. When she was 10, her family moved to Provo, Utah, where she graduated from Provo High School and earned a Seminary scholarship to BYU. While at BYU, she earned her bachelor's degree and teaching license. Lu served an LDS mission to the Southwest British Mission.

Emma Lou married John C. Cash on March 22, 1972, in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was later solemnized in the Las Vegas Temple on November 25, 2000. John and Lu had two children, Christina and David. When Lu married John, she was also blessed with a bonus daughter, Linda, from his previous marriage.

Education was very important to Emma Lou, which she passed on to her children, grandchildren, and numerous students as she spent her adult career teaching. She taught Home Economics to High School and Junior High students in California and Nevada. After having her kids and moving back to Utah, she taught second and third grade at Pahvant, Ashman, and Monroe Elementary Schools. She loved her students and teaching new skills.

Lu was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a strong testimony of the Gospel and especially tithing. She served in many positions in the church; her favorite was a Gospel Doctrine teacher. She was involved in a variety of clubs throughout her life that she enjoyed participating in and making new friends.

Nothing is more important to Emma Lou than her family, whom she loved and enjoyed spending time with. She is survived by her husband, John Cash; daughter, Christy Cash; step-daughter, Linda Parks; and daughter-in-law, Robyn Cash Longaker; Grandchildren: Kylie Belt, Alyssa Holbrook, Treyson Belt, Justin Cash, and Samantha Cash; brother Ray Webb, and many beloved nieces and nephews who call her Auntie Lu.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Cash; her parents, Rex and Lucile Webb; her sister, Marie Ginn; her brother, David J Webb; and her nephew, Adam Webb. Lu will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
