Garrett “Gary” William Martin, 70, of Moroni, passed away October 2, 2023 in Centerfield, Utah. He was born on September 22, 1953 in Wellston, Ohio to William Garrett Martin and Vivian Burke (Kenneth) McKinniss.
Gary was proud to serve his country for over 40 years. He began his military service stationed in Korea during the Vietnam war and then transitioned to the U.S. Postal Service while continuing his active service with the 1457th Engineer Battalion in Desert Storm. He later retired as Post Master of Ephraim.
Gary was a skilled marksman, enjoying his firearms, target practice, hunting and fishing. He loved to end a fun day of outdoor activities by inviting friends and family over for a good game of Texas Holdem. It was always a good time when Gary was involved.
Gary married Nona Joy Larsen on March 31, 1974 in Elko, Nevada. Together they have three children: Stefanie Lynn Martin (Chris Evans) Cary, NC; Garrett "Billy" (Chelsie) Martin, Nephi; Jennifer Lee Martin, Sterling. He is survived by his wife; children; 8 grandchildren; siblings: Charles Ray (LuWana) Martin, Dale Albert Martin, Edward Thomas (Tammy) Martin, Timothy (Christine) Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a wonderful father, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin. Always full of life, one to make you laugh, smile and feel great about life in the moment. As long you were there with a smile he was content. He was never one to make a fuss, regardless of how he was feeling. Gary will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
