Gary Maurice Johnson, 82, passed away January 11, 2013 in Richfield. He was born May 1, 1930 in Norfolk, Virginia to Alfred Vernor and Maude Mae Hughes Johnson. He married Peggy L. Winkel December 27, 1952 in the Presidio, San Francisco.
Gary was a musician for the U. S. Army Band, playing trumpet, for 20 years, until he retired.
Gary is survived by his wife, Peggy; sons: Gary E. (Robin) Johnson, Denver, CO; Michael John (Norma Stell) Johnson, Fayetteville, AR; Christopher Vernor Johnson, Fort Lupton, CO; daughter, Tracy Johnson, Maryland; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; step-children: Jay, Joy, and Jeri; 1 step-grandson; sister, Marilyn Ann Johnson, Richfield; sister-in-law, Barbara.
Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Laura; siblings: Alfred V. Johnson, Alan Johnson.
Cremation services have been held. Memorial services will be held at a later date, with military rites. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
