Gary Melvin Thayer, 82, of Gunnison, UT passed away October 18, 2022 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Gary was born July 19, 1940 in Eugene, OR.

Gary married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Johnson, and together they had 3 wonderful children. Gary was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Throughout his life he has maintained the value of hard work, even in his older age he worked hard at everything he did, until his body would no longer allow him to. He always had an “old school” mentality of being a man of his word.

Gary is survived by loving wife, daughter, Annie Marie Lucero; 7 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; and a brother, Charley “Chuck” Thayer. He is proceeded in death by his parents, daughter, Sherry Jacobson; son, Robert Thayer; grandson, Travis Sargent; brother, Ronald; sisters, Joyce and Stella.
