Gay Sparks Bishoff
1937 ~ 2025

Pleasant Grove, Utah --- Gay Sparks Bishoff, beloved wife, mother, grandma, and great grandma, passed away peacefully at her home on May 8, 2025 at the age of 87. She was born on September 30, 1937 in Ephraim, Utah. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Hume and Gladys Sparks and her brother Larell Sparks. She is survived by her husband of 68 years John Perry Bishoff and her children Ken (Sally) Bishoff, Gary, (Tania) Bishoff, Jay (Kris) Bishoff, Julie, (Bill)Townsend, 19 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren.

She grew up in Ephraim, Utah and attended Snow College where she met her husband John. They were married on May 31, 1957 in the Manti Temple. As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she served in the Primary, Young Women and Relief Society and was also a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was a secretary in the vocational department at Brighton High School in Salt Lake City for 25 years. They moved to Annabella, Utah, where she served for 10 years as an ordinance worker in the Manti Temple with her husband John. They also served a two year mission in the Richfield Employment Center. She was a volunteer for five years with the Hospice/Home Health in Richfield and volunteered at the Richfield Senior Center as a quilter for 12 years. She was a member of the Daughter of Utah Pioneers and was a company president of the Sevier South DUP for six years and then Camp Captain for six years for Red Butte Camp. They moved to Pleasant Grove to be closer to family. She made over 500 woven mats for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Humanitarian Program, which was quite a feat. Some of her hobbies were bowling, quilting, crocheting, knitting and sewing. She also loved to play games with her family. She was The Farkle Queen.

A viewing will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Grove 8th ward chapel located at 1136 W. 700 S., Pleasant Grove, UT 84062. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM. Graveside service in Ephraim, Utah at 2:00 PM.
