Gayle Stewart

Gayle, beloved daughter, wife, mother, and sister, passed away July 31, 2025, in Stonehenge Rehab of Richfield at the age of 90. 

Born in Kanab, Utah, she was the eldest of five children, having two brothers and two sisters.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Anna Deal, her husband, David, her youngest daughter, Cyri, and her younger brother, Veldon.

Gayle graduated from Kanab High School. She played in the high school band. She played the flute and was a majorette in the parades. She could twirl the baton very well. She was a member of the 4-H club, where she enjoyed spending time outdoors and creating crafts. 
Gayle also worked at a café in Kanab, where she met her husband Dave. They married in 1952 in Fredonia, Arizona. They had four girls together, who were then raised for the majority of their years in Sandy, Utah.
During the girls' growing years, Gail was the designated boat driver for our boat club and water skiing competitions, and she taught new skiers because she knew how to drive for each person. 
Our family went camping a lot or to the lake, and on every trip she always baked an applesauce cake. It was something our dad liked.
Gayle was also involved in the primary and the MIA as president, pianist, and organist. 
She helped with writing scripts for the plays and road shows, infusing them with her humor. 
She sewed a lot in our young years, and she helped with the costumes for those.

Cremation Services will be done at Magleby Mortuary and Cremation Center
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Monroe City Cemetery at 11:00 am.
