Jerry Moen

Gerald Richard Moen “Jerry” passed away on March 30, 2022 in Nephi. He was born in Janesville, Wisconsin on April 4,1931. He entered the US Air Force one month after the Korean conflict started (June 1950). He was assigned to aircraft engineer school in Texas. After completion, he was stationed in Hawaii. Shortly after, he became a flight engineer flying between Japan and the United States. After discharge, he returned to Wisconsin. He then took an apprenticeship as a tool and die maker and attended Junior college. After completion, he moved to California where he worked as a project engineer until retiring.
He was married to the former Roma Anderton Collings for 30 years until she succumbed to leukemia and Alzheimer's on July 24, 2012.
Later in life, he married Barbara Gail Peterson Donaldson, and they resided in Richfield Utah. They are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in the Richfield 9th Ward. Jerry and Barbara were able to enjoy 9 wonderful years together.
Jerry was a wonderful man. He was kind and loving, such a good provider. He was always thoughtful. Jerry was full of energy and creative in many things. He enjoyed life and he enjoyed the beauty of life. He loved working with his hands and especially enjoyed planting flowers each spring making the yard beautiful. Jerry was a people person. He loved those he met and in return they loved him back. He uplifted those around him and always had a smile and a hello to give.
He will be deeply missed by his sweet wife Barbara; and her 4 children: Carl Alan (Trudy) Donaldson, Kelly Glenn (Debbie) Donaldson, Muranda (Jason) Prestwich, and Kimberly Gail (Dale) Anderson; as well as 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Also preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Ernest and Marie Stillmank Moen; and siblings: Donald, Josephine and Anna May.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 12:00 Noon in the Richfield City Cemetery with military honors by the V.F.W. Post #5050 and Hill Field Honor Guard.
