Grant Mogle
Centerfield, Utah

Our loving father, Grant Wesley Mogle, age 85, passed away on January 14, 2024 in Centerfield. He was born June 29, 1938, in Manti to Wesley Mogle and Ruth Jones. He met the love of his life, Margie Louise Clark while attending Snow College. They were married in the Manti Temple on April 11, 1959. They were blessed with 9 children: Frederick (Tina) Mogle, Gunnison; Jenifer Mogle, Centerfield; Elizabeth Mogle (deceased); Marie Welch, Lehi; Susan Mogle, Centerfield; Mark Mogle, Payson; John (Fawntell) Mogle, Gunnison; Matthew (Katie) Mogle, Gunnison; and Paul (Tara) Mogle, St. George. They were married for 44 wonderful years until her passing on April 29, 2003. He later married Madge Wilson in Axtell, Utah in 2011. They lived in Salina. They enjoyed 7 years together and later divorced in 2018.
Grant grew up in Manti and graduated from Manti High School where he was active on the basketball team and also met his lifelong friends. He was noted as being the “wittiest story  teller” at Manti High School. He definitely lived his life living up to that quote.
He served in the National Guard; graduated from Snow College where he received his Associate Degree; attended Utah State University earning his Bachelor Degree; and Brigham Young University where he earned his Master Degree in Education.
He spent his career teaching high school, elementary and middle school students. Many students have called “Mr. Mogle” their favorite teacher. Grant also taught prisoners at the Utah Correction Facility in Gunnison.
Grant was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in numerous callings and enjoyed serving others. His favorite callings include 2nd  Counselor in the Centerfield bishopric and Scout leader.
He loved friendships with people and rarely went anywhere without meeting someone he knew. Story telling was second nature to him. If you were lucky enough, you recall campfire stories which included “Hyrum” or “Annie Bangs”.
He had a great passion for the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and simply going to the mountains to cook a hamburger! Grant enjoyed BYU games, Jazz games,  John Wayne movies and spending time with his family.
His departure leaves a great void in the lives of many friends, family and community.
He is survived by his children; 28 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brother Phillip Jones Mogle, Orem. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margie; daughter Elizabeth; and granddaughter Makena Mogle.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Gunnison Hospital, Mission at Community Rehab of Centerfield and his physician Wade Anderson for their compassion and kindness to our father.
