Hyrum Thomas Dudley, 94, of Joseph, Utah, passed away March 18, 2011, at his home in Joseph. He was born March 16, 1917, in McGrath, Alberta, Canada, to Sanford Hyrum and Margaret Vilate Bingham Dudley. He married Alice Catherine Cheney, on July 10, 1946, in Grand Junction, Colorado. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Alice, Joseph; children, James Milton (Pat) Dudley, Central Valley; Carma Marie (Dennis) Rosequist, Glenwood; Ella (Randy) Christiansen, Fillmore; Ellen (Skip) Thompson, Minersville; Steve Sanford Dudley, Joseph; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Donald Keith and Dan Thomas; parents; sister, Margaret Elison.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011, 12 Noon in the Joseph LDS Ward Chapel in Elsinore. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the ward chapel in Elsinore on Monday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Joseph Cemetery with Military Rites by the Elsinore American Legion Post #75. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.

Hyrum served as a CB in the US Navy during WWII. He was an avid outdoors man and rock hound. Hyrum worked as a construction worker for over 40 years enjoying the work and picking up rocks wherever his work took him. He enjoyed working in his yard planting lots of flowers and tending to his garden. Most of all, he was a dedicated husband for 64 years, father and grandfather.
