Jerilyn Rasmussen Despain, 78, passed away on August 30, 2020 in Fort Benton, Montana. She is a former resident of Richfield, Utah. She was born on November 30, 1941, in Salina, the third child of Philo and Velma Day Rasmussen of Redmond, Utah. She attended schools in Redmond and Salina. Jerilyn was a hard worker, doing many jobs while her health would permit. She worked for Barrett’s Food Town in Salina for many years in the bakery department.

She met Don Ray Despain and they married on May 2, 1958 in Redmond, Utah. They lived in many places in Utah and other states. They divorced in July 1975. She moved to Richfield in August of 1976, and lived there until her family was gone, then she moved to Montana in April 1991, to be near her daughter, Nalin. Jerilyn met a very special friend Wayne Charles Ackerman in Fort Benton, Montana, who was her special friend and companion for many years until his death. She was very appreciative of him and the service he gave to her for many years.

Jerilyn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions in her earlier years. She was active in various community activities. Some hobbies she enjoyed were sewing, painting, embroidery, taking pictures, making photo books, writing histories and art work in many textures. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family and making things for them. She will be missed by many and she enjoyed her puppy "Little Bit".

Survivors include her daughters: Jerrae (David) Blake, Salina; Nalin Dana, MT; sons: Gail Don Despain, Salina; Michael Glen (Annette) Despain, Lyndon, WA; 60 grandchildren and 129 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way and 18 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Wendell Rasmussen, Richfield; and sisters: Phyllis Rush and Elaine (Alan) Gurr, both of St. George; many nieces, nephews, friends, aunts, uncles, cousins whom she loved and her favorite "aunt Naomi" whom she called "mom" for many years. She will be missed by all who have known her!

Preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 3 grandsons, and one great-granddaughter.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Salina Eastside Cemetery. Viewing will be that day from 11.00 a.m. to 12.00 Noon in the Magleby Mortuary, Richfield.
