Listen to Obituary

Jodi Lynne Fellows Anderson, 60, of Gunnison, Utah, passed away in her home surrounded by family on June 18, 2026. She battled ovarian cancer for nearly four years, the last year, a rare small-cell ovarian cancer, with courage and dignity.

Jodi was born August 22, 1965, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Theodore Halister and Donna Ann Fellows. She is the oldest of five children.

She graduated from Taylorsville High School, Southern Utah State College with a Bachelor’s of Education degree, and received a Master’s Degree of Education from Southern Utah State University, all with high honors.

Jodi married Ryan Rodney Anderson in the Salt Lake Utah Temple on March 15, 1984, and had over 42 wonderful years together. They were blessed with three children: Mindy (Trevor) Jensen, Mitchel (Lisa) Anderson, and Hunter (Marissa) Anderson. Jodi and Ryan are the proud grandparents of Grayson, Wyatt, Nora, and Levi.

A generational educator for 37 years, Jodi taught 1st, 4th, and 5th grades and spent 7 years at the district office as the Instructional Technology Specialist. She became good friends with many teachers throughout South Sanpete and people in the district office. One highlight from her career was having each of her own children in the classroom. She taught Mindy in 1st grade, Mitch in 1st grade, and Hunter in both 1st and 4th grades. One of her goals was to memorize every student’s name in the South Sanpete School District.

Much like in her classroom, she spent a lifetime teaching others through her humble, sincere, and patient example. She taught through her quick smile, unyielding positive attitude, and a heart full of gratitude, especially through trials. She taught to invest your time and effort on developing the kind of deep and meaningful relationships that fulfill life and last forever. From students to grandkids to adults, she could be heard encouraging others through their own struggles and self-doubts with “you can do hard things”. She was a moral compass, a beacon of light, and a true Christ-like love to everyone who had the joy of knowing her.

A devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Jodi served diligently in many church callings throughout her life, her favorite being primary chorister. She loved working closely with wonderful members, and especially children.

Jodi is survived by Ryan, their children, grandchildren, her mother, and siblings: Lesli (Steve) Niebergall, Scott (Kerry Hill) Fellows, Mark (Heather) Fellows, and Greg Fellows. She was preceded in death by her father.
