Joey Lee Vinney, known to family and friends as “Big Joe,” age 60, of Circleville, Utah, is now "Driving In Heaven."
"Big Joe" passed on Monday, March 2, 2026. He was born on January 28, 1966, in Tomah, Wisconsin, to Linda Lee Dotson and Louis John Vinney. Joey built a life marked by hard work, loyalty, and joy. He began his career with Sysco in 1996 and worked there for 12 years before retiring due to medical issues. Not one to sit idle, he turned his energy to farming, keeping himself busy and surrounded by the land he loved.
He met Janalee Dalton, working at Cedar Pack in Cedar City, Utah, and they married on March 21, 1987. After some time, they went their separate ways in life.
Joey’s passions were many: snowmobiling, racing, farming, and his cherished Green Bay Packers. He took pride in the time spent with his son and his grandchildren, who meant the world to him. He enjoyed drag racing so much that he made it possible for those who loved cars to show and race their cars alongside his 1985 Ford Thunderbird at Junction Airport. He loved racing cars so much that he even bought his grandkids a mini dragster. He spent countless hours in the shop with his boys, tinkering on engines and throwing wrenches. During football season, he made sure nothing was planned on Sundays so he could watch his Packers beat the Chicago Bears. He enjoyed watching the main WWF wrestlers and UFC with his boy, Joey.
He is survived by his sons, Joey Vinney, Kylee (Beth) Vinney, and Colton Vinney. Ex-Wife Janalee Dalton. Grandchildren Tukker, Traxtyn, Taycee, Eston, Brentley, and Kaden Kellum. Siblings, Johnny Vinney, Jimmy (Michelle) Vinney, Mimi Vinney, Julie Cartwright, and Lisa (Paul) Munsterman. Parents, Louis John Vinney and Linda Lee Dotson.
Preceded in death by brother-in-law, Neil “Jammer” Cartwright, Randy Dalton, in-laws, Clark and Joeline Dalton
Joe didn't hold anything back and wore his heart on his sleeve, so you knew where you stood with him. We're going to miss you, Big Joe. We hope you're burning rubber up there.
