John Joseph "Jack" Tighe Jr.

Jack was born John Joseph Tighe Jr. on October 9, 1949, in Buffalo, NY. He passed on June 17, 2026, in Cedar City Hospital after complications from pneumonia. Jack’s parents, John Sr and wife Betty, sister Kathleen, and brother Patrick moved to Las Vegas in 1960. Jack married Barbara, the love of his life, on July 24, 1970. They had two children, daughter Jennifer and son John J III.

Jack joined the City of Las Vegas Police Department in January 1971 at just 21 years old, before it became the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. He spent the majority of his 20 years in the Department as a Detective. He took a great deal of pride in serving the community in the Police Department, where he made lifelong friends. In 1991, he retired, and in 1995, he and Barbara moved to Circleville, UT, where he loved to hunt, fish, and ride his ATV.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, daughter Jennifer (Todd) Schleusner, and son John J. Tighe III. Grandchildren, Andrew (Cori) Schleusner, and Erin Schleusner. He cherished their visits and attending their sporting events. Also, sister, Kathleen Dewitt, and brother, Patrick Tighe.

Jack will be sadly missed but will be lovingly remembered by his family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 12:00 Noon in the Circleville 1st Ward Chapel, 195 W 200 S, Circleville, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to services on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:30 am. Burial will be in the Circleville Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina, and Manti.
