Jonnie Jonell Boden Potts, 73, returned home to her Heavenly Father on May 18, 2026, in Price, Utah, surrounded by her family.
Jonnie was born on August 26, 1952, in Burley, Idaho, to James Howard and Bessie Boden.
She graduated from Burley High School in 1970 and later attended the University of Wyoming.
Through an outreach program at Carbon County Hospital in Rawlins, Wyoming, she worked as a Respiratory Therapist, where she established the hospital's first respiratory therapy department and hired and trained its staff.
While living in Wyoming, she met and married Paul Parsons and welcomed a son. They later divorced.
She eventually returned to Idaho and married Leon Bruner; they later divorced.
Jonnie moved to Ogden, Utah, where she worked as a Respiratory Therapist at St. Benedict's Hospital.
There she met and married Dr. Robert E. Potts. Together, they had four daughters.
Jonnie chose to leave her career to become a stay-at-home mother. The family lived in Castle Dale, Utah, for a few years before moving to Sevier County, Utah. Robert and Jonnie later divorced.
Later in life, Jonnie returned to Price, Utah, but soon left to care for both a nephew and a sister during their battles with cancer.
After their passing, she returned to Price and obtained her CDL, driving semi-trucks for a short time before health issues prevented her from continuing to work. Jonnie spent her remaining years in Price, where she was known for caring for stray cats and lovingly giving some of them homes.
At the time of her passing, she was residing at Pinnacle Nursing and Rehab, where she formed many meaningful friendships with both residents and staff.
She is survived by her children, Jon (Jennifer) Parsons of Fort Kent, Maine, Sarah (Cameron) Pearson of Richfield, Utah, Rebekah (Rusty) Riddle of Richfield, Utah, Rachel (Michael) Doty of Taylorsville, Utah, and Shoshanna Potts of Lehi, Utah; 17 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; her brother, Shane (Yvonne) Boden of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Claude, Richard, Clara, Jeanene, Janice, and Jimmy.
In accordance with Jonnie's wishes, her body was donated to science through the University of Utah School of Medicine's body donation program. Cremation will follow, with burial to take place in the Burley, Idaho Cemetery.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Pinnacle Nursing and Rehab, Angela and staff with Rocky Mountain Care and Hospice, Dr. Valdez and staff, and all those who showed Jonnie care, kindness, and compassion.
Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington, where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Jonnie online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
