A life ended far too early, Kamden Clair Taylor passed away on Saturday, January 3, following a tragic accident.
Kamden was born on February 23 2006, to loving parents Holly Cox Taylor and Kerry Taylor in St George, Utah. From the very beginning, Kamden was stubborn, fearless, and determined, traits that defined everything he did. He found endless ways to annoy his older siblings, especially by smashing Lego creations they had carefully built. By his side through it all was his trusted partner, the family dog, Bear.
Kamden and Bear were inseparable. Many days were spent in the backyard, where Kamden attempted to retrieve apples from the family apple tree while Bear enthusiastically assisted by jumping into the branches and knocking them down. They could also often be found at the playhouse, with Kamden trying to pull Bear up the slide. Bear, being far larger, usually won, dragging Kamden to the bottom of the slide and rewarding him with enthusiastic face licking.
Kamden had a deep love for anything with wheels. It began with mechanic creepers, which he and a friend rode back and forth for hours in their driveways. At the age of eight, he received his first dirt bike and rode it relentlessly until the wheels quite literally fell off. He later graduated to four wheelers, and you could always hear his joyful giggles echoing down the road as he rode.
Kamden also loved playing the guitar and video games. After receiving a guitar from a family friend in 10th grade, he taught himself how to play, a skill that was deeply admired by his family. He spent many hours at the arcade, and even as he grew into a teenager and became “too
cool” for many things, he always made time to play video games with his siblings.
At a young age, Kamden decided he wanted to join the military. He worked hard to graduate high school and proudly enlisted in the United States Army. His stubbornness, determination, and bravery carried him through boot camp not once, but twice, after he was required to return home midway through his first attempt due to an injury. Though often lonely and scared, he called his family frequently and never wavered in his desire to serve. His perseverance, dedication, and commitment were a constant source of pride and inspiration to those who loved him.
Kamden graduated from boot camp on July 24, 2025. He was appointed as a Cavalry Scout in the Army and took great pride in his role. He was assigned to B Troop 6th Squadron 8th Cavalry Regiment 2 ABCT 3rd Infantry Division and had just begun settling into his base in Georgia.
Kamden’s life ended far too soon, with so much life still left to live. He is survived by his mother, Holly (Gregg) Cox Taylor; his father, Kerry (Coreen JoAnn) Taylor; his stepfather, Greg (Stacey) Wilson; and his siblings, Kenyon (Brigette) O’Driscoll, Abigale (Chance) O’Driscoll, Mariah Russell, Matthew Wilson, Cole Wilson, Layla (Kevin) Wilson, Jacob McDonald-Parkin, Rebecca Campos, Erica Campos, and Kaden Taylor. He is also survived by his grandparents, Brent (LaDonna) Cox, and many others who loved him deeply. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Clair and Ellen Hulet.
