Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, John; her son, Michael; her parents, Deloy and Clella; and her sister, Marilyn.
Kathryn married her first husband, Clark Christensen, in 1956, and together they had three beautiful children: Michelle Kellee, Natalie Sorensen, and their son, Michael Christensen, deceased. After their divorce, she later reconnected with her middle school sweetheart, John Bodtcher. They were married on August 25, 2000, and shared a loving marriage until John passed away in 2021.
Kathryn was an incredibly hard worker. In 1968, after completing cosmetology school, she opened a salon in her home called The Pink Poodle. Women traveled from all over—including Circleville, Nephi, Marysville, and Bicknell—to have their hair done by her. She often began her days at 4:30 in the morning and worked late into the night.
In 1975, she closed her salon and began a new chapter working for the State of Utah, where she remained until her retirement.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings over the years. She shared her love of Christ willingly and carried many Christlike attributes.
Above all, Kathryn’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved her children deeply and took immense pride in her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and most recently, her great-great-grandchildren. Each generation brought her so much happiness, and she cherished every moment she was able to spend with them. In her later years, she devoted much of her time to researching and sharing her family’s ancestry and genealogy, ensuring her legacy and love for family would continue for generations to come.
Kathryn was a woman deeply loved by many. She was generous, kind, and built lasting friendships that spanned from her school years through adulthood and throughout her life. She had a special way of opening her heart to others, becoming a source of comfort, strength, and refuge to so many.
She will be profoundly missed and forever cherished.
