Kay Henningson
Manti, Utah

Kay Evelyn McArthur Henningson passed away peacefully in her home in Manti on January 13, 2024 with her husband by her side.  Kay was born March 12, 1949 in Ephraim to LeOra D. Peterson and Bryan R. McArthur. She was the oldest girl and third child of nine children.
She married her childhood sweetheart and love of her life, Dale Henry Henningson, in the Manti Temple on December 13, 1968. Kay and Dale were married for 55 years and had 6 wonderful children: Dale Bryan Henningson (Lilliam), Manti; Cris Henningson (who passed away in 1983); Kendall Henningson (Sheri), Manti; Jenny Fife (Randy), Charlotte, NC; Wendy Olsen (Russell), Manti; Charlotte Long (Bryan), Winston-Salem, NC. They have 22 grandchildren and 6 great-granddaughters.
Kay graduated from Manti High School and furthered her education at Snow College and then later at Phoenix University. She worked hard all of her life as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She got her first job at age 14 and worked numerous jobs through the years, most notably as an administrative assistant for Manti High School. She finished her career at the Department of Workforce Services.
After her retirement in 2008, because of health problems, she was a worker in the Manti Temple from 2009 to 2016. This was a huge blessing in her life. Kay was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many organizations through the years. She loved the Savior and taught her children and grandchildren to love Him too.
She was raised to respect her country and her community. Her life was one of service. Some of her favorite service opportunities were the American Legion Auxiliary, historian for the Manti High School Alumni Association, Horseshoe Mountain Quilt Guild, Homemakers Association of Central Utah, and her numerous church callings and temple work. She ministered in so many ways blessing countless lives.
She had always been an amazing seamstress and in her later years she became passionate about quilting and card marking. Many have enjoyed her gorgeous quilts and wonderful birthday and anniversary cards.
Kay left a legacy and a testimony of Jesus Christ and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband Dale Henningson; her children Dale, Kendall, Jenny, Wendy, and Charlotte; sisters: LeAnna Johansen, Patsy (Steve) Nielson, and Leslie (Kelly) Roberts; sisters-in-law: Shannon Johns, Linda McArthur, and Marilyn McArthur; brother-in-law, David Smyth.
