LaVona Parker
Lake Elsinore, CA/Formerly of Joseph

LaVona Lynn Parker, 64, of Lake Elsinore, CA passed away on September 29, 2022 after her 32 year battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer.   LaVona was born on August 27, 1958 to James and LaVona Gleave Carter in Richfield, Utah.  LaVona graduated from South Sevier High School in 1976 and she went on to study business and accounting for 2 years at Dixie State College.
A faithful young woman who belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, LaVona chose to serve a full time mission for the church at age 22.  She was called to labor in the Cleveland, Ohio mission.  A decision that has deeply inspired and spiritually impacted all who know and love her.  LaVona’s love and testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ has served as a beacon of light to all.
LaVona found her eternal companion  and sweetheart in Blane Parker.  LaVona and Blane married on May 26, 1984 in Joseph, Utah, and went on to have three children: Joshua, Kaden, and Shanna.  They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti temple on June 3, 1995.  He preceded her in death on February 13, 2013.
LaVona left Utah for Blane’s work and settled in Southern California where they raised their family.  LaVona used her background in business to help Blane and their sons build a successful business and presence in the Heavy Equipment Repair industry.  She worked at Blane’s Equipment Repair, Inc. as the office manager and co-owner for over 20 years.  She enjoyed working, but her greatest joy and accomplishment were being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
A survivor through the course of her battle with breast cancer, LaVona inspired and touched the lives of everyone who knew her.  Her life is a shining example of the healing power of the Savior and is a witness of God’s greatest miracles.
Her hobbies and interests included returning to Utah as often as possible to visit family and camp in the mountains, go to the ocean, traveling, reading, journaling, and spoiling her grandchildren.
LaVona was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brother, John Carter.  She is survived by her children: Joshua (Stephanie) Parker, Kaden (Julie) Parker and Shanna (Yug) Milinic; grandchildren: Emma, Liam, Blane, Kasen, Luka, and Capri; siblings: Jimmy (Nannette) Carter, Connie (Brent) Nielson, Wyona (Doug) Balch, LaDell (Kellie) Carter.
