Lillian Stott
1938-2022
Lillian Taylor Stott, age 84, died September 6, 2022 in Ogden, Utah. She was born May 12, 1938 in Fillmore, Utah, a daughter of Roy Barnett and Orpha Blain Taylor.
She graduated from Juab High School, in Nephi, Utah class of 1956. She was the editor of the Juab High yearbooks and involved in intermural sports. She married Laural Hyrum Stott March 6, 1957 in the Manti LDS Temple.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many church callings: Girl’s camp director, teaching Sunday School, ward organist, working with the youth, and many others.
She was intelligent, artistic, and blessed with many talents. She decorated amazing wedding cakes, designed and oversaw decorations for many Richfield High School Junior Proms and Church sponsored dances. She designed floats for the 4th of July parades. She was an excellent seamstress and also knitted, crocheted and did needlepoint. She was very good at drawing, painting and various other artwork and crafts. She was the go-to person for problem solving when anyone needed help.
She enjoyed camping with her family and traveling to various national parks. She enjoyed identifying plants and loved the beauty of nature. She taught piano lessons to many students and then later on to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Ann Stott-Hansen, Yachats, OR; Miriam (Kelly) Chambers, North Ogden; Rodney (Mindy) Stott, Paradise; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren: Jessica (Michael) Watts; Gavin and Alexis McAllister, Alia, Kylee, Caleb, and Blake Watts; Sydnie (Travis) Hobbs and Hannah; Mataja Maughn, Matthew Rhett Stott (Jake Adams); Cade Stott; Josh (Stevie) Chambers and Caden, Hyrum, Ty, Jace, Charlotte Chambers; Rachelle (Josh) Holloway; Chad (Megan) Chambers; Olivia Chambers and Adrianne Chambers. Siblings: Blain (Lorine) Taylor, Rex (Linda) Taylor, Don (Carolyn) Taylor, Jesse (Cyndi) Taylor, Katherine (Mike) Hennessy. Preceded in death by: husband, Laural Stott; parents, Roy and Orpha Taylor; brother, John Taylor; sister, Jean Marie Taylor; grandson, Jacob Stott.
