Lola Jean Wheeler, born March 3, 1936, in Fairview, Utah returned to her loving Heavenly Father on October 20, 2025, at her home with her family by her side.

She married Earl J. Wheeler on November 5, 1954, in the Manti, Utah temple. They lived in Logan Utah where Jean supported Earl as he received his bachelor’s degree from Utah State University. They were blessed with three children Karen (David) Edwards of Mayfield, Robert (LeighAnn) Wheeler of Richfield, and JoAnn (Mike) Otten of Manti. They have 14 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.

Jean was the daughter of Albert Zeland Madsen and Ellis Tucker Madsen. She was a sister to Carolyn (Don) Robertson, Gail (Laurel) Madsen, Barbara (Larkin) Hamilton, Bryant (Pricilla) Madsen, Oneita (Gary) Faatz and Blake (Terry) Madsen. Daughter-in-law to Wilford Wheeler and Merinda Jensen Wheeler. A sister-in-law to Lavon (Jerry) Nelson, Mont (Barbara) Wheeler, Georgia (Bryce) Jackson, Donna (Paul) Black, and Clifford Wheeler.

Jean was a woman of strong integrity and values. Whether in family, church, or community, she set a great example for others to follow. She showed selfless love and support to all. Jean was completely devoted to her husband and family. She and Earl were inseparable and did everything together. She loved being with her family in any setting. She loved being outdoors with Earl and her family, hunting, fishing, camping and four wheeling. She spent many days with family in these activities. Family loved going to her house as she made everyone feel loved and welcome.

Jean and Earl moved to Manti in 1959 when Earl gained employment at Manti High School. Jean and Earl were avid supporters of all sports and other activities of Manti High School. They attended these activities until their physical health would not let them attend.

Jean was employed by Jensen’s Department store for 6 years. She then moved on and was the Librarian at Manti High School for 4 years. Following this she went to work at Manti Telephone Company for over 22 years.

She was a faithful active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many Ward and Stake leadership positions. She and Earl served a mission to Seattle Washington working with the Church Education System.

She was preceded in death by spouse, parents, parents-in-law, sisters Carolyn Robertson and Barbara Hamilton and brother, Bryant Madsen.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 1:00 pm in the LDS Chapel at 295 South Main Street. Interment will be in the Manti Cemetery.
