Margene Wirtz

Margene Taylor Wirtz, 72, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023 in Gunnison, after a eight year battle of cancer. She was born on June 7, 1951 in Salina to Orval Clell and Arlena Morrell Taylor.
Margene graduated from Wayne High School in 1969. She attended Weber State University in Ogden. She worked for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She later worked as a book editor and typesetter for Carr Printing in Bountiful. After her years at Carr Printing she worked for the University of Utah in the printing and editing department.
She married Philip Rinehart in 1973. They later divorced. Margene married Keith Thomas Wirtz on December 1, 1990 in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death, January 3, 2015.
Margene was an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She loved books and reading. Margene was an avid collector of coins and stamps. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held various callings in the church and enjoyed serving others.
She is survived by her sister, Myra Turner.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; and her sister Orvalene Wright.
