Mark Raymond Dastrup passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, far too soon at a young age of 63. He was a man deeply devoted to his faith, his family, and his Savior, leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength, humor, and kindness that touched every life he encountered.
Mark was the beloved husband of his high school sweetheart, Lisa. The two were married on September 6, 1983, on his 21st birthday in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple, a joyful beginning to a life rooted in love and faith. Together they raised four sons who adored him: Morgan (Heather), Brady (Lauren), Gerrick (Julie), and Logan (Jane). He found endless joy in his six beautiful grandchildren.
A devoted missionary, Mark served in the Manila, Philippines, Mission, where his deep testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ flourished. His faith remained steadfast through every season of life.
Mark now rejoices in a heavenly reunion with his parents, DeReece and Jeannine Dastrup, whom he honored and loved throughout his life, and with his childhood best friend, Willy. One day, he will be reunited with the siblings he leaves behind whom he cherished deeply.
Those who knew Mark will forever remember his calm wisdom, his sense of humor, and his ability to make anyone feel valued. His family lovingly described him according to his wishes as “practically perfect in every way,” a reflection of the care and devotion he poured into every role he filled from husband to father, grandfather, son, and friend.
Mark’s unwavering love for his Savior guided his life and continues to inspire all who knew him. His example of faith and goodness will forever light the way for those he leaves behind.
A funeral service honoring Mark’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, beginning with a viewing at 9:00 a.m. and services at 11:00 a.m. at the Manzanita Chapel, 3519 Manzanita Road, St. George, Utah.
