Mary Louise “Mary Lou” Biffath Trejo, of Monroe, Utah, returned to her Father in Heaven on September 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving husband of 69 years and her family.

Mary Lou was born October 24,1939, in Pike Township, Madison County, Ohio, to Joseph Biffath and Dora Grace Coe. She was the oldest of five children. Her siblings included her brothers, David, Ronnie, and Larry Biffath, and her sister, Janice Mills, who lovingly called her "Mama."

Mary Lou’s childhood was not always easy. She spent many years in and out of children’s homes and foster families. During those years, Karl and Eilene Hunt took Mary Lou and her siblings into their home and gave them a place where they could feel loved and cared for. Mary Lou also had foster siblings, Carline, Sarah, Karl Jr. and Josie Hunt, who became an important part of her life.

Mary Lou met the love of her life, Milton Leroy Trejo, when she was just 12 years old. Their love continued to grow throughout their teenage years, and at the ages of 17 and 18, they were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were together for more than 70 years, sharing a life filled with love, family, faith, hard work, and many cherished memories.

Mary Lou was a devoted mother. She and Milton were blessed with four children, including their sweet daughter Tamra, who passed away at birth. She is survived by her son Steven (Shelly) Trejo and her daughters Cheri (Michael) Mitchell and Dianna (Richard) Barton.

Mary Lou was always there for her children. She supported them through all of their activities, from wrestling and rodeo to cheerleading, drill team, and track. She could always be found on the sidelines cheering them on and you could hear her voice above the crowd. She was their greatest cheerleader and one of their biggest supporters.

Mary Lou was a convert and an active and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings throughout her life, from den mother to Relief Society president. She and Milton were blessed to serve a mission together for the Church in the St John’s, Newfoundland Mission, where Mary Lou served the people with great love and compassion.

Mary Lou was a woman of many talents. She could sew almost anything simply by looking at a picture, even earning a JC Penney award for her skill in high school. Over the years, she made countless quilts, dishtowels, afghans, and other beautiful items for her family and friends—each crafted by hand and filled with love. These handmade treasures will continue to remind her family of her for years to come.

She was also a beautician in the Monroe community for many years and formed many lasting friendships through her work. Mary Lou was a member of the Monroe Riding Club and enjoyed many years of friendship and laughter with her card and birthday clubs, as well as her bowling buddies.

Above all, Mary Lou loved her family deeply. She leaves behind 12 grandchildren: Tiffany Moore, Taryn Freeman, Colt Trejo, Chad Brazee, Jeff Brazee, Scott Brazee, Christi Orme, Cody Barton, Lynde Barton, Bryan Barton, Weston Barton, and Hilary Nelson, along with 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, who will carry her memory and pass her legacy of love and faith on to future generations.

Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Biffath and Dora Grace Coe; her brother Ronnie; her sister Janice Ann Biffath Mills; members of her foster family; her daughter Tamra Louise; and her great-grandson, Rho Roulette Barton.

Mary Lou’s life was one of incredible perseverance, faith, service, family, and love. She experienced difficult times as a young girl, but she went on to build a life filled with the people she loved most. She gave her family her whole heart. Her hands created beautiful things, her voice could always be heard cheering for those she loved, and her faith carried her throughout her life.

She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who went before her, and once again in the loving arms of her Father in Heaven.

Until we meet again, Mom. We love you.
