Micah Shane Hansen
June 5, 1973 – June 27, 2025
Micah Shane Hansen, a devoted husband, cherished father and grandfather, loyal friend, and proud serviceman, passed away on June 27, 2025. He was 52 years old.
Micah was born on June 5, 1973. His parents are Jack and Pam Hansen. A lifelong resident of Richfield, Micah grew up with a deep love for the outdoors and an even deeper love for his family. From a young age, he was his dad’s best buddy—always ready to jump in the truck to go farming, fishing, camping, or four-wheeling. Those early adventures built the foundation for a life filled with hard work, quiet strength, and faithful service.
At age 14, Micah started his first job washing cars at Labrum Ford. That early exposure to responsibility and discipline helped shape a strong work ethic and a love for order—Micah liked everything “ship-shape and in place.” Micah was a man of few words and a lot of hard work.
In high school, Micah joined the National Guard and, following his junior year, headed to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, for boot camp. Though young, he was determined, courageous, and proud to wear the uniform. He made a full career of the National Guard and served with the 2-222 Battalion “Triple Deuce” alongside his brother, cousins, and uncle for two tours in Iraq. After 28 years of military service, Micah retired with honors as a Master Sergeant, having earned the respect and admiration of all who served alongside him. He was a great leader, a dedicated soldier, and a man of unwavering principle.
Micah married Carlee Robinson, January 16, 2009 in Richfield, Utah and built a beautiful life together full of love and laughter.
Micah’s life of service didn’t end with the military. He continued to serve his country and community through government work with the U.S. Forest Service, USDA/NCRS, and as a firefighter for Richfield City. His coworkers became lifelong friends, and his example of integrity and dedication left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Micah lived his life with honor, love, and a quiet strength. He was always the first to show up, the last to leave, and the one who made everything better than he found it. Whether washing his truck, mowing his lawn, or heading into the mountains to hunt and fish, Micah found joy in simple routines, steady work, and time spent with those he loved most.
He is survived by the love of his life, Carlee, his children Josie (Joel Nevin) Hansen and Addie (Bridger) Bammert, Cash Hansen, Cade Hansen, grandchildren, Harvie and Knoxton. He is also survived by his siblings, Heidi (Casey) Jensen, Jay D. (Sharlene) Hansen, Tyson (Lana) Hansen, Marlee (Jeremy) Christiansen. He was preceded in death by a son, Jarin Shane Hansen and grandparents Donald and Betty Hansen, E.J. and Marie Foutz. He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Micah’s heart of service, his fierce devotion to family, and his courage in the face of life’s greatest challenges defined him. He was the kind of man people looked up to, leaned on, and loved deeply. His legacy is one of strength, kindness, and quiet enduring faith.
