Michael Sorenson, 60, of Ephraim, Utah, passed away on August 4, 2025 at his home after an extremely difficult battle with lung cancer.
Mike was born on October 11, 1964 to Gerald Udell and Patricia May Gillet Sorenson. He was the 6th of 8 children.
Mike grew up in Ephraim and when he was young helped with hay, sheep and anything that had to do with farming. He graduated from Manti High School and after high school, became Snow College’s most loyal night custodian. In his entire 36 years of employment, he only missed one day of work for his mothers funeral.
Mike never married; however, his large family kept him busy. He was always busy fixing things and helping his family. Going to the mountains was his sanctuary and he especially loved to go in the fall and gather wood for the winter. He took great joy in woodworking and generously helped his neighbor tend to her yard. He was always eager to lend a hand, often noticing when others were in need. A man of unique passions, he adored yellow roses, savored taco salad, and enjoyed heavy metal music, with AC/DC standing as his favorite band.
Mike is survived by his siblings: Ned (Kelly) Sorenson of Nixa, MO; Gregory Sorenson of Ephraim, UT; JoLynn (Mike) Tasker of Mona, UT; Charlotte Sorenson of Sterling, UT; Carolyn Sorenson of Thermopolis, WY; Lis (Brian) Black of Ephraim, UT; Melissa Tuft of Toquerville, UT; along with a multitude of adored nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and baby sister, Valerie May.
Mike is going to be missed for his kindness, quick wit and kind smile.
