Nola Mae Newton

Nola Newton, age 90, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones in Manti, Utah. She was born on November 27, 1935, in Patchogue, New York. Later in life, she made her home in Manti, Utah, where she spent her final years close to family and the life she loved.

Nola was a woman of deep faith, strength, and devotion. She was known for her sweet and nurturing spirit, as well as her strong will and stubborn determination. She found joy in caring for others, especially through her cooking, and took great pride in her home, her fruit trees, and in bringing new life to old furniture through refinishing. She valued health, hard work, and the simple beauty of a well-lived life. Her greatest love was her family.

She is survived by her four daughters: Maureen Oakes, Michele Oakes, Holly Scheffler, and Kelly MacLeod. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren: Tina Christiansen, Ricky Dynes, Crystal Johnson, Jason Dynes, Tara Michaels, Ryan Donaldson, Christopher Scheffler, Heather Scheffler, Amanda Greenstreet, Samantha Kuhlman, Dominic Jurado, Jakob MacLeod, and Joshua Jurado. Each of them carries forward her love, lessons, and strength. Nola’s life was a reflection of resilience, love, and quiet dedication. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
